Product Description
The Academia Mathematical timepiece is the 4th concept watch from DeWitt. Comprised of 384 pieces, a majority of the components have been produced in house, and hand assembled by Dewitt watchmakers. The Academia Mathematical timepiece features a unique "dial" where the current hour and minute come to life from a chaotic group of numbers. Both hours and minutes are indicated using the "jumping numbers" display principle through two vertically aligned apertures positioned in the top half of the sapphire crystal. Four wheels, each with their own gilt Arabic numerals, are used to display the 4-digital decimal time.
Operating at a frequency of 21,600 vibrations per hour and featuring a screwed balance and a 48-hour power reserve, the movement is hand finished with a circular-grained mainplate and bridges decorated using circular and beveled Côtes de Genève patterns. Like all DeWitt timepieces, the watch is finished with the brand's signature emblematic imperial columns.
