Product Description

This jaw-dropping collection from RARE-T features a staggering array of authentic artifacts, antiques, meteorites, oddities, skulls, and cruelty-free taxidermy from various eras in history. Each one was acquired in accordance to the import restrictions on archaeological material, which are intended to reduce the incentive for pillage and trafficking of illegal antiquities.

This custom museum display showcases an absolute masterpiece- an authentic Egyptian God of War Maahes statue dating from the Ptolemaic Period 332–30 B.C. This ancient Egyptian tomb statue features a beautifully carved and Maahes statue, depicted here as a human with a lion head, with a long tripartite wig, broad collar necklace, holding the Ankh in his left hand (symbol for life and to revive human souls in the afterlife) , and wearing solar disk and uraeus-cobra headdress - The Uraeus is the stylized, upright form of an Egyptian cobra used as a symbol of sovereignty, royalty, deity and divine authority in ancient Egypt. The Sun Disc (Aten) is a symbol of god Ra. The deified Aten is the focus of the monotheistic religion of Atenism established by Amenhotep IV, who later took the name Akhenaten (died ca. 1335 BCE) in worship and recognition of Aten, the creator, giver of life, and nurturing spirit of the world.

Maahes was a deity associated with war, protection, and weather, as well as that of knives, lotuses, and devouring captives. His cult was centered in Taremuand Per-Bast, the cult centers of Sekhmet and Bast respectively. The male lion hieroglyphic was used in words such as prince, strength, and power.

Bands of carved hieroglyphic inscriptions cover the dorsal pillar at back (usually a passage from the Book of the Dead) .

It's protected under plexiglass in a custom museum display to keep it looking pristine, ensuring protection of your investment while allowing you to fully appreciate this piece of collectible ancient history. The customized descriptive metallic plaque, in addition to the detailed finishing, add to the elegant, gallery quality look. Unique and one-of-a-kind, you'll receive the exact piece shown in the photos. Complete with a certificate of authenticity, this piece is an exciting investment that will only get better with age.
