Can this be used to clean out ear wax from ears? And how do you clean it sufficiently?

The Basic LastSwab is designed more to clean the ears and other things you'd do with a single-use swab that you'd buy from the store. The beauty LastSwab is typically used more to correct make-up. For both beauty and basic LastSwabs, after using it, we suggest cleaning it with warm water and soap and it's as good as new.

How does it stay clean? Does it soak up any moisture in the ears like cotton tips?

We recommend washing it with warm water and soap after every use. Although it soaks up moisture with its ridges, it is not as absorbent as the regular single-use swab, since it is not made of cotton.
