Product Description

Jim Baker was a legend among mountain men. Friends with the likes of Kit Carson and Jim Bridger, Baker was said to be brave and loyal to a fault. Baker also led a life of adventure. From battling with Native Americans, to scouting for a railroad survey party in Salt Lake, and rescuing the daughter of a Shoshone chief, Jim Baker’s stories and adventures go on and on.

Don’t let the compact form of this knife fool you. Weighing in at 8 ounces, the Jim Baker Damascus Steel Skinner is ready for anything. Made of 1095 and 15n20 steel, the high carbon content of 1095 gives this knife an extremely sharp and durable edge. The full tang blade is just over a 4” blade and built for utility and function. The flat belly and skinner tip make this knife very easy to control and the large handle gives you plenty of leverage. A brass bolster with finger guard gives you plenty of control over the knife while protecting your fingers as well.

Please note: Each knife is handmade from natural materials and may vary slightly in color, Damascus pattern, and overall look. Damascus steel can rust if not cared for properly. Do not keep Damascus steel in a leather sheath for long periods of time, as the leather can cause the steel to rust. Please be aware Damascus steel products will arrive fully coated in a protective, non-toxic mineral oil, which can be easily washed off before use. Damascus steel should be regularly oiled with any household oil over the course of its life to prevent corrosion.
