This handsome arrangement features fossilized Ammonites on matrix from Madagascar. These extinct species of Orthoceras, an ancient relative to the modern-day cephalopod – otherwise known as squids or nautilus – have an estimated age of about 110 million years. This unique piece features opalization on the surfaces of the ammonites, which have been polished to bring out the gorgeous colors and patterns, and a large unfurled ammonite stretches across the top.
